Weekly Class Theme: Fascia Routine

What Is Fascia? It is a web of connective tissue that links every cell in the body. The fascia is like an information highway sending messages instantly from one part of the body to another. It’s function is very important in our mind-body health, the nervous system, how we feel pain, and more.

We want our fascia to be able to communicate clearly with all other parts of our body, and in order to be able to do so we need to release the places where we store chronic tension and pain. Most common places would be in the shoulders and lower back.

As we know, our back body is hard at work to hold us up every day. So we will be focusing on the fascia of the back to help release any tension, giving the muscles a better chance at working more efficiently.  This kind of work on the fascia can help reduce pain, increase range of motion, as well as  teach our muscles how to move efficiently.
