Weekly Class Theme: Eka Pada Rajakapotasana/One-Legged King Pigeon Pose

This week we will explore Eka Pada Rajakapotasana/One-Legged King Pigeon Pose. Discovering the endless benefits from this posture as well as trying some new variations to go deeper our practice.

I will show you how to use props and the wall to help you find the right way for you to get into pigeon, as well as teach you how to go into it safely, giving you tips to protect your knees and lower.

As mentioned, this beautiful asana has many benefits since it is a hip opener, and a back bend. One being the opening of the hips and psoas. As we know the hips hold many emotions, and by surrendering into this posture we release those emotions, stress and any tension that may have been trapped inside.  Once you have begun to release and relax the psoas and the hips we can then  begin to move into a back bend, opening our hearts, offering and receiving love, letting go of ego and moving into the light.

Come this week and open your heart with the wonderful back bend Eka Pada Rajakapotasana/One-Legged King Pigeon Pose and come and discover the other many benefits the posture has to offer.
